The Old Bones Microfractures are a smaller version of a PAF style humbuckers, but owing to their smaller dimensions they have sound all of their own. As they sample a smaller area of the strings movement than a typical humbucker, they tend to have a brighter and cleaner sound.
 
The Microfractures have been made with AlNiCo 2 (A2) bar magnets and Formvar wire. The A2 magnets tend to give a vintage tone, producing a slightly muted bottom end with full mids and a full top end and good overall sustain due to lower string pull. Mixed with the cleaner and brighter characteristics of mini-humbuckers you should have a wide range of tones covering jazz, blues and classic rock styles perfectly.
 
The Old Bones Microfractures are fully wax potted and  come with vintage braided wire as standard, this can be changed for 4 conductor wire if preferred (just let me know in the notes section of the order form). The DCR for these is around 6.5K in the neck and 7.0K in the bridge.
